Day 1
You’ll depart on an overnight flight to Paris.
Day 2
You’ll arrive at the Paris airport in the morning. You’ll meet your tour manager after you exit customs and then board a coach for Paris. On the way to the hotel, you’ll see the city sights during a panoramic tour and make stops in Montmartre, Arc de Triomphe, the Champs-Elysees, Place de la Concorde, Les Invalides, the Opera and more. After the tour you’ll head to your hotel for check in and time to settle in. In the evening you’ll have dinner at a local restaurant.
Day 3
This morning you’ll head out to see the vibrant market culture in Paris. You’ll visit the Marche Bastille, a twice weekly farmer’s market. You’ll browse the meat, cheese and bread stands and have the opportunity to taste French delights. You’ll have free time to enjoy the market and choose a stand for lunch. After your visit you’ll take a walking tour in the district of Le Marais, the oldest part of Paris. You’ll have free time in this charming district and dinner in one of the neighborhood restaurants.
Day 4
Today you’ll tour Paris’ world class art collections and museums. You’ll take a guided tour at the Louvre and see the famous “Three Ladies,” the Mona Lisa, Venus de Milo and Samothrace Victory. After lunch, you’ll head over to the Musee D’Orsay located inside an old railway station. This museum is known for its impressionist painting collection. You’ll meet in the evening for dinner.
Day 5
This morning, you’ll head out for a tour of a Parisian culinary school. You’ll tour the facilities and observe a class in action. You’ll have the opportunity to see the curriculum and tools of the trade. After the visit you’ll participate in a cooking class and try your hand at classic French cuisine and techniques. In the afternoon you’ll head up to Montmartre and walk along the narrow cobble stoned streets. You’ll see the artists at place due Tertre and the Sacre Coeur basilica. In the evening you’ll have dinner at one of the many restaurants on the square.
Day 6
This morning you’ll start with a stroll through the Jardin du Luxembourg, location of the French Senate and an impeccably manicured French style garden. Pony rides are optional, as you admire the diverse flora in the park. You’ll continue your walk though the Latin Quarter and end with a visit to Notre Dame. You’ll stop at one of the many cheese shops for a cheese tasting. After a lunch break you’ll head over to see the Eiffel Tower and from there board the hop on/off bus and enjoy a narrated tour of the city. After the tour you’ll board a boat for a river cruise on the Seine. You’ll have dinner on your own after the cruise and then return to the hotel.
Day 7
This morning you’ll check out of your hotel and head to the airport for your return trip home.
