Daily Itinerary


Day 1 – Arrival in Beijing, China

Upon arrival in Beijing, your will be greeted at the airport by your bilingual guide. From the airport you will head to your hotel, the Huaqiao Travel Inn (3 star) or similar, where you will stay for three nights.

Note: no meals are included this day.

Day 2 – Exploring Beijing

After breakfast at the hotel you will participate in a full day city tour, which will include: Tiananmen Square, the Forbidden City, and the Temple of Heaven.  In the early evening you will enjoy a traditional Beijing duck dinner.

Day 03 – Great Wall Excursion

After breakfast at your hotel you will go on a full day excursion to the Great Wall of China, and visit the Ming Tomb seeing the Changling and Sacred Way. You will enjoy a delicious lunch at a local restaurant. Later in the afternoon you will return to your hotel in Beijing.

Day 04 – Beijing City Tour and Transfer to Xi’an

Today starts with breakfast at your hotel, then a half day city tour in Beijing, including the Summer Palace, the 'hutongs' tour with a pedi-cab of old Beijing residences and a walk around Houhai Lake. You will have lunch at a local restaurant.  After lunch, you will have a departure transfer to the airport for your afternoon flight from Beijing to Xi’an.  Arrival transfer to your hotel, the Days Inn City Center Hotel or similar, where you will stay for two nights.  Your guide will take you to the Muslim Living Quarter for a very interesting tour.  In the late afternoon you will return to your hotel in Xi’an.

Day 05 – Xi’an Full Day Tour

After breakfast at the hotel you will embark in a full day tour including the Army of Terracotta Warriors, Banpo Village and the Big Goose Pagoda. In the evening you will have a 'Dumpling Banquet’ dinner at a local restaurant and see a famous Tang Dynasty Show. After the show you will return to your hotel in Xi’an.

Day 06 – Xi’an Afternoon tour and Yichang

After lunch at a local restaurant you will continue in a half-day tour to visit the Shaanxi Provincial Museum and the Old City Wall. Later, you will have a departure transfer to airport for your evening flight (NOTE: this flight only available on Tuesdays, Thursdays, or Saturdays) to Yichang. Upon arrival you will be met by your guide and transferred to your hotel.

Day 07 – Yangtze River  — Yichang and Wudangshan Mountain 

Morning visit to the Three Gorges Dam Site by bus. Then you will be taken to the Three Gorges Museum and Binjiang Park for a visit.  Your Yichang local guide and driver will take you to train station for evening train to Wudangshan Mountain. The journey is about five and a half hours by train and you will arrive at Wudangshan Mountain around midnight. You will be transferred to your hotel, the Nine Dragon Hotel or similar, where you will stay for three nights.

Note: Dinner is not included this day.

Day 08 – Wudangshan Mountain

In the morning you will be visiting the South Cliff Palace and the Dragon-head Incense Burner, excellent stone carved architectural art, which points exactly to the Golden Summit of Wudangshan to the south.  From here, the Golden Temple on the Heavenly Pillar Peak is slightly visible. 

After lunch, you will start hiking up to the highest point for Wudang, the Golden Summit of the Heavenly Pillar Peak, one of the sites on the World Cultural Heritage list. The symbol of the Wudang Mountain is the sign of Wudang Taoism reaching a high peak under the support of the imperial family. You will enjoy the beautiful scenery on the Golden Top scenery area and visit the Ancient Taoist Building Complex. This complex has many palaces and temples, places for Taoists to worship their gods.


Day 9 – Wudangshan Mountain
You will take a bus to visit Crown Prince Slope.  The ancient buildings on the Crown Prince's Slope were elaborately commissionedby Emperor Zhenwu.  Ancient architects made full use of the topography and built up double-layered walls, called the Nine-winding Yellow River Walls.  You will have the opportunity to enjoy a tea art appreciation with the beautiful music of Gu Zheng and later have lunch in a nearby restaurant.  Later, you will explore the Xiaoyao Valley. You will visit Yuxu Crag to imagine how Zhang Sanfeng watched the fight between a magpie and a snake to create the martial art of T’ai chi ch’uan!

Day 10 – Wudangshan and Transfer to Shanghai
You will have an early morning transfer to the Xiangyang airport, about a 2 hour drive. You will then board your morning flight to Shanghai Pudong airport. Upon arrival you will be met by your guide and transfer to your hotel, the Holiday Inn Zhabei Hotel.  Later, enjoy an amazing half day tour at the Oriental Pearl TV tower, The Bund and Nanjing Road.

Day 11 – Shanghai

Enjoy a morning tour to the Yuyuan Garden, the Town God's Temple Market and the Jade Buddha Temple.  In the evening you will enjoy a dinner and attend a performance by the Shanghai Acrobatic Troupe. You will then return to your hotel for your last night in Shanghai and China.

Day 12 – Depart Shanghai
After breakfast you will have some free time to shop and explore the city. Lunch is on your own. You will then transfer to the airport for your flight back home.
