Daily Itinerary

Upon arrival in Montreal, you’ll meet your Tour Manager and take a guided city tour. Starting with a walk down St. Catherine Street through Montreal’s great shopping area, you’ll pass McGill University and enter Montreal’s “Underground City.” You’ll exit near the financial district and Chinatown, and then you’ll continue to the Old City. There, you’ll see City Hall, Place Jacque Cartier, and the Old Port.

Next, you’ll visit the magnificent Notre Dame Basilica. Montreal’s oldest Catholic church, built in 1656, is known for its intricately designed interior, which includes stained glass chronicling the history of the city.

After dinner, you’ll have some fun ice skating at Atrium 1000. You will also have some free time to explore before turning in for the evening.

After breakfast at your hotel, you’ll take a ride to St. Joseph’s Oratory. A popular site for religious pilgrimages, St. Joseph’s Oratory is the largest basilica in Canada and the second largest domed basilica in the world – second to St. Peter’s Basilica in Rome!

You’ll visit Mount Royal Park and see fantastic views of the city from the Chalet. Inaugurated in 1876, the splendid Mount Royal Park was designed by Frederick Law Olmsted, the highly skilled designer behind New York’s Central Park and many other major parks in the U.S.

Before lunch, you’ll head to St. Catherine Street for some free time to shop.

Afterwards you’ll visit The Montreal Biodome, a facility located in Montreal that allows visitors to walk through replicas of five ecosystems found in the Americas. You’ll pass from the lush, Tropical Rainforest into the marine life in the Gulf of Saint Lawrence to the Labrador Coasts and beyond.

After dinner, you’ll play a game of laser tag at Laser Tag Montreal.

This morning, you’ll visit the Montreal Museum of Fine Arts, Canada’s oldest and one of its most important art institutions. The museum has a large collection including 19th-century paintings, and many paintings, prints and drawings by Canadian artists, only a small fraction of which can be displayed at a time.

Next you’ll have free time to shop, eat and explore along Rue St. Denis, an avenue of attractive, historic townhouses currently occupied by restaurants, art galleries and fashionable stores. The area became known as Montreal’s Quartier Latin (Latin Quarter) when several institutions of higher education were established here during the early 20th century.

This afternoon you’ll say goodbye to Montreal as you depart on your return trip home.
