Daily Itinerary

You’ll depart on your flight.

Once your flight arrives, you’ll be met by your tour manager.

Your bus will pick you up and you’ll continue your trip.

You’ll take a guided city tour of Lisbon. Stops will include the historic Belém district and Belém Tower; the exquisite Jerónimos Monastery and visit to the iconic bakery to indulge in the renowned Pastel de Belém; the charming Alfama district, including the São Jorge Castle and Lisbon Cathedral; Rossio Square and Chiado. Finally, you’ll ascend the Elevador de Santa Justa for breathtaking panoramic city views.

You’ll have free time to shop or grab lunch (not included) at the Mercado da Ribeira (once also known as Mercado 24 de Julho), Lisbon’s main food market since 1892.

You’ll arrive at your hotel and check in. If your rooms are not ready, you’ll store your bags and continue on your tour.

You’ll have dinner at a local restaurant.

You’ll take a guided tour of The Castelo de São Jorge, or the Castle of São Jorge, a historic fortress located in Lisbon, Portugal. Set atop a hill in the city’s Alfama district, the castle has a rich history dating back to Roman times.

You’ll have free time in Praça do Comércio, a historic and iconic square located in the heart of Lisbon. The centerpiece of the square is the imposing Arco da Rua Augusta, an iconic triumphal arch that serves as the gateway to the square. It’s a popular gathering place for locals and tourists alike, hosting various events and festivals throughout the year.

You’ll take a guided tour of The Royal Monastery of Santa Maria de Belém, commonly called the Jerónimos Monastery, a masterpiece of Portuguese architecture and a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

You’ll take a 1.5-hour sunset cruise around the Tagus in the evening sun, offering the best views of Lisbon’s illuminated sights.

Today you’ll take a captivating day trip from Lisbon to Sintra, a UNESCO World Heritage Site that enchants with its fairytale-like charm. Nestled amidst lush green hills, Sintra beckons with its awe-inspiring palaces, including the colorful Pena Palace and the historic Sintra National Palace. Wander through enchanting gardens, explore narrow streets adorned with quaint shops, and immerse yourself in the romantic atmosphere that has inspired poets and artists for centuries.

You’ll take a guided tour of the Pena National Palace, which is like a sacred jewel crowning the Serra de Sintra. The surrounding park is very in tune with the fairytale character of the palace and is a pleasure to explore!

You’ll have the day free to explore Lisbon on your own.

Tonight you will take a hands-on cooking class and cook your own authentic Portuguese meal. Get to know the story behind the recipes and ingredients passed down through generations and discover the secrets of Portuguese culinary tradition.

You’ll check out of your hotel room, board your bus and begin the driver to Porto, making a stop in Coimbra for lunch.

You’ll stop in the historic town of Coimbra, midway between Lisbon and Porto. Here, you can explore the renowned University of Coimbra, one of Europe’s oldest academic institutions. Meander through the town’s old quarter and absorb its medieval charm and cobblestone streets. Admire the splendor of the Coimbra Cathedral and immerse yourself in history at the Santa Cruz Monastery. Take a leisurely stroll along the tranquil Mondego River and then savor local cuisine, embracing Coimbra’s culinary delights before continuing your journey.

In the late afternoon we’ll continue the drive to Porto.

Positioned on Portugal’s northwestern coast along the Atlantic Ocean, Porto is renowned for its charming bridges, breathtaking beaches, and its role as a hub of win production. This morning you’ll take a walking tour of city center. The medieval enclave of Ribeira boasts meandering cobblestone alleys adorned with shops. São Francisco Church is celebrated for its opulent baroque embellishments and magnificent gilded sculptures. The 19th-century Palácio de Bolsa was built to dazzle European investors with its opulence.

After the tour you’ll have the rest of the day free.
