Daily Itinerary

1

When you arrive in Boston, you will meet your tour manager. Your bus will pick you up and you’ll continue your trip.

You will have a delicious breakfast at one of Salem’s recommended food stops.

You’ll arrive at the Salem Witch Museum and follow the history of witches, witchcraft and witch hunts through the ages. You also watch a presentation of the events of the Salem Witch Trials of 1692.

You’ll venture on an unforgettable historical experience at the House of Seven Gables. Outside, spectacular seaside gardens await you. Inside of The House of the Seven Gables, also known as the Turner-Ingersoll Mansion, you will discover a mysterious secret staircase where you least expect it! Built in 1668, this is the oldest surviving 17th century wooden mansion in New England. The House of the Seven Gables inspired author Nathaniel Hawthorne to write his legendary novel of the same name.

You’ll visit the Copley Square area and have free time to shop at the Prudential Center.

Super Duck Tours makes a grand splash into Boston Harbor offering spectacular views of the Old North Church, Bunker Hill Monument, USS Constitution and the Boston skyline! You’ll spend 45 minutes on land and 45 minutes at sea while enjoying a rich narrative about Boston’s historical waterfront.

After dinner, you will arrive at your hotel in the Boston area and check in.

2

After breakfast, you’ll board your bus and depart the hotel for the day.

You’ll arrive to The Boston Tea Party Ships & Museum for an interactive and exciting history experience. You will have a personalized “colonial character” host that will guide you through this never-before-seen museum experience. You’ll “meet” Sam Adams, you’ll participate in the re-enactment of the destruction of the tea; you’ll be invited to board a tall ship, you’ll marvel at one of only two known surviving tea crates and you’ll be inspired by the film Let It Begin Here in the Minuteman Theatre. Learn the role that you will play in one of the most important events in American history.

You’ll head to Harvard Square where you’ll have free time. You can visit the campus of America’s oldest institution of higher learning, visit the campus book store and have time to explore the neighborhood.

Experience a signature historic experience in New England on the Freedom Trail. To preserve the story of the American Revolution, these sites are located along a unique 2.5 mile urban walking trail, marked with a bricked or painted red line. You’ll see Boston Common, the State House, the Granary Burial Ground and the site of the Boston Massacre.

Time to explore Quincy Market. Built in 1825, Quincy market was an indoor pavilion of vendor sales. The main Quincy Market building continues to be a source of food for Bostonians, though it now houses food-stalls, fast-food, and restaurants. It is a popular and busy lunchtime spot for downtown workers. In the center, surrounding the dome, is a two-story seating area.

After dinner, you’ll take a walking ghost tour and hear all about Boston’s darker side! In a city nearly four hundred years old – troubled with war, murderers, strife and the occasional bout of stray molasses, it is hardly any wonder that Boston remains one of the most haunted cities in America and stories of the glory days of Colonial Boston only scratch the surface of Boston’s darker side.

You will return to your hotel for the evening.

3

After breakfast, you’ll check out of your rooms and board the bus for the day.

You’ll visit the North Bridge, an important site in the history of the American Revolution. At the North Bridge, minutemen from Concord and the neighboring towns stopped the British advance and turned it back toward Boston in the fist battle of the Revolutionary War. This is the site of, “the shot heard ‘round the world.”

You’ll visit the historic towns of Lexington and Concord where the first shots of the American Revolution were fired. On April 18th, Paul Revere, William Dawes and Samuel Prescott made their midnight journey to warn the colonists of the impending British attack. On the morning of April 19th, 1775, Minutemen faced the British and fought at the Lexington Battle Green. You’ll also see the North Bridge in Concord where shots were fired. Ralph Waldo Emerson described the first shots by the Patriots here as, “The shot heard round the world.”

After lunch, you’ll depart Boston and drive to New York.

You’ll arrive at your hotel in the midtown Manhattan area and check in.

After dinner, you’ll head up to the 70th floor observatory at the Top of the Rock where you’ll enjoy a fantastic view of the Manhattan skyline.

You will walk back to your hotel for the evening.

4

After breakfast, you’ll depart on the Ferry for Ellis Island where you’ll have fantastic views of the Statue of Liberty and a chance to visit the Immigration Museum. Ellis Island served as the main port of entry for European immigrants arriving in the US between 1892 and 1924. Today over 100 million Americans can trace their lineage to a relative that passed through Ellis Island on their way to America.

You’ll walk up through the financial district past the famous “Charging Bull,” past Trinity Church and the New York Stock Exchange and then up to the World Trade Center.

After lunch, you’ll arrive at the 9/11 Memorial located at the site of the World Trade Center. After passing through security you’ll see the large granite waterfalls that sit in the foot print of the former twin towers. The names of the victims are engraved around the perimeter of the fountains.

You will visit the 9/11 Memorial Museum. The museum’s 110,000 square feet of exhibition space is located within the archaeological heart of the World Trade Center site-telling the story of 9/11 through multimedia displays, archives, narratives and a collection of monumental and authentic artifacts. The lives of every victim of the 2001 and 1993 attacks will be commemorated as visitors have the opportunity to learn about the men, women and children who died. The museum further recognizes the thousands who survived and all who demonstrated extraordinary compassion in the aftermath. Demonstrating the consequences of terrorism on individual lives and its impact on communities at the local, national, and international levels, the Museum attests to the triumph of human dignity over human depravity and affirms an unwavering commitment to the fundamental value of human life.

You will head to the Brooklyn Bridge. You can walk across and see the fantastic views of the Manhattan skyline from the walking path and also from Brooklyn Bridge Park on the other side of the bridge. If weather or time does not permit, you can walk midway across and still see the amazing views.

You’ll visit Chinatown and Little Italy where you’ll have some free time to explore and shop.

You’ll enjoy an authentic Italian meal in Little Italy.

After dinner, you’ll have free time to explore in Times Square.

You’ll return to the hotel for the evening.

5

After breakfast, you’ll visit the Met…see the world! With nearly two million works of art spanning more than 5,000 years, The Metropolitan Museum of Art is one of the world’s largest and finest museums, presenting the best of human creativity from around the globe. When you arrive you’ll take a guided highlights tour to introduce you to some of the museum’s galleries. After the tour you’ll have free time to explore on your own.

After a break for lunch, you’ll visit Central Park. You’ll see the Imagine Memorial to John Lennon at Strawberry Fields, the Bethesda Fountain, the Boathouse, the Mall, Sheep Meadow and the Wollman Ice Rink.

You’ll head down Fifth Avenue to see some of the famous stores and boutiques. You’ll see Apple’s flagship store and the Plaza Hotel (featured in “Home Alone 2”) and then down Fifth Avenue past Tiffany’s and more.

You’ll begin your adventure on “The Rise” with an immersive film by award-winning documentarian Ric Burns that transitions to an interactive self-guided walkthrough tracing tipping points in history attributing to NYC’s global pop cultural evolution. Then you’ll soar to new heights with spectacular uplifting ride – a world class flying theater- that gives visitors a unique bird’s-eye view of the Big Apple.

After dinner, you’ll see a Broadway show.

You will return to your hotel for the evening.

6

You’ll have breakfast,  you will check out of your rooms and store your bags at the accommodations and then head out for the day.

Little Island is a public park that provides a one-of-a-kind relationship between nature and art—a break from urban life and a connection to spontaneity and joy. Components of the pier, nestled among more than 350 species of flowers, trees and shrubs, include a 687-seat amphitheater and an intimate stage and lawn space, along with dazzling views of other portions of Hudson River Park, New York City and the Hudson River.

You will visit the Chelsea Market where you can have lunch. This gourmet food market was built inside the former Nabisco factory in Chelsea and is now home to the Food Network and many gourmet food vendors.

You’ll visit the High Line Park. You will enter the park in the Meat Packing District, one of New York’s trendiest neighborhoods. Then you’ll see fantastic views of lower Manhattan and the Hudson River from this modern urban park. It has been built on an unused, elevated railway track between Chelsea and Penn Station.

You’ll depart your hotel and drive to the airport.
