Daily Itinerary
When you arrive in Barcelona, you will meet your tour manager. Your bus will pick you up and you’ll continue your trip.
You’ll arrive at your accommodation and store your luggage. If your rooms are ready, you’ll check in.
You’ll explore the Parc Guell which was originally planned a place to enjoy nature within a housing development. While the development did not happen, the park remains with its hidden sculptures, monuments and fascinating structures throughout.
You’ll have time to walk down Barcelona’s most lively street, Las Ramblas. Filled with street performers and locals, the street is the artistic and cultural heart of the city and ends at the entertainment center, the Barcelona pier where you’ll have time to shop and enjoy views of the Mediterranean.
The Mercat de Sant Josep de la Boqueria, simply referred to as La Boqueria, is a vibrant and historic food market in the in Barcelona. Located on La Rambla, it offers a dazzling array of fresh produce, seafood, cured meats, and local delicacies.
After dinner, you’ll return to the hotel for the evening.
After breakfast, you’ll begin a guided tour of Barcelona. This enchanting seaside city is bursting with culture and sites that will captivate you. During your tour you will stroll through the winding streets of the Gothic Quarter and see its magnificent Cathedral. You’ll experience the vibrant pulse on Las Rambles and you’ll learn about the famous architect Gaudi and his influence on the city as you visit the various sites and neighborhoods.
You’ll visit the Gaudi masterpiece, the Sagrada Familia. Started in 1882, the gothic inspired church is still under construction yet the world heritage site still stands as one of the most unique churches in the world.
You’ll visit the Catedral de Barcelona, built in the Catalan Gothic style and on the foundations of an early Christian Basilica. Dedicated to the martyr, Saint Eulalia, the cloisters where her body in entombed hosts 13 geese representing the age when she was killed.
You’ll enjoy dinner and traditional Flamenco show. Flamenco is the traditional song and dance of the Gypsies (flamencos) of Andalucia. The Flamenco Dance is an expression of emotion with great use of the arms and rhythmical stamping of the Flamenco dancer’s feet. This evening you’ll have dinner and see a show.
After breakfast, you’ll visit Casa Batlló, designed by Antonio Gaudi. With a facade covered by a colorful tile mosaic, oblong oval windows and a roof that resembles a dragon’s spine, the unique features of the house stand out as one of the more artistic of Gaudi’s works. You’ll explore the twisted staircases, arched loft and sculpted stonework as you take a self guided tour of the house.
You’ll visit the FC Barcelona Museum and then take a tour of the FC Barcelona Stadium, Camp Nou. Completed in 1957, it is the largest stadium in Spain with a seating capacity of 99,354. You will have the opportunity to tour the most emblematic areas of the stadium.
You’ll visit the Picasso Museum and see early sketches and paintings of the master from his formative years spent as an artist apprentice in Barcelona as well as commissioned portraits, sculptures and cubist masterpieces.
You’ll visit the Barceloneta neighborhood. A maritime residential neighborhood built in the 18th century, “little Barcelona” features miles of sandy beaches, relaxing cafes, world famous sculptures and a boardwalk full of interesting food and sights.
After dinner, you’ll return to the hotel for the evening.
After breakfast, you’ll visit Castell de Montjuic, a military fort that has played an important role in Catalan history. The fortress was built to keep a watchful eye over the city, at the top of Montjuic hill and was occupied by invading armies and used as a prison during the Spanish Civil War. You’ll explore the 17th century building and see incredible views of the city below.
You’ll visit the Joan Miro Foundation which houses the private collection of the surrealism artists, funds scholarships and contemporary art research and holds exhibitions of 20th and 21st century contemporary art.
You’ll have the rest of the afternoon free to explore!
After dinner, you’ll return to the hotel for the evening.
After breakfast, you’ll check out of your hotel and travel to the airport for your return trip home.
