Daily Itinerary

1

Upon arrival in Chattanooga, you’ll meet your Tour Manager and stop to visit the beautiful Ruby Falls. In 1928, Leo Lambert and a team of excavators found a breathtaking waterfall located over 1,120 feet below the surface of Lookout Mountain in Chattanooga, TN. Lambert named the falls after his wife, Ruby, and opened the area as a public attraction in 1930.

After lunch at Ruby Falls, you will board an authentic renovated WWII amphibious landing craft for a narrated tour of downtown Chattanooga, TN.

Next, you’ll have time to explore all that the Chattanooga Aquarium has to offer. The aquarium is home to the most diverse gathering of freshwater animals in the country. You’ll see penguins, otters, multiple types of fish, sharks, jellyfish and much more! You’ll also be given an opportunity to see a 3D IMAX film.

After dinner, your group will listen to guided folklore tales of ghost sightings and experiences throughout the city of Chattanooga.

2

After breakfast today, you will experience the spectacular three-dimensional electronic battle map presentation of Chattanooga’s Civil War history featuring 5,000 miniature soldiers, 650 lights, sound effects and exceptional details of the major battles which were fought here in November of 1863. Learn about Chattanooga’s Battle Above the Clouds and Sherman’s assault on Missionary ridge before his historic March To the Sea. See an excellent relic and weapon collection and a bookstore for well-known works about the Civil War.

In 1863, Union and Confederate forces fought for control of Chattanooga, known as the “Gateway to the Deep South.” The Confederates were victorious at nearby Chickamauga in September. However, renewed fighting in Chattanooga that November provided Union troops victory and control of the city. After the fighting, a Confederate soldier ominously wrote, “This…is the death-knell of the Confederacy.”

All aboard! Join the Southern Belle Riverboat for an exciting tour on the history of Tennessee. While participating in the tour, you will have lunch on board.

Your Tennessee trip comes to a close as you depart for home.
