Daily Itinerary
You’ll depart on your flight. When you arrive in Hawaii, you will meet your tour manager.
You’ll board your bus and head to the hotel where you’ll check in.
After dinner, you’ll return to the hotel for the evening.
You’ll awaken early to hike Diamond Head, a broad, saucer-shaped crater formed over 300,000 years ago during a volcanic explosion. This .8 mile hike takes you 560 feet up to the summit where you’ll see spectacular views of the landscape and the sea.
After your hike, you’ll return to the hotel to have breakfast.
After breakfast, you’ll board your bus and depart the hotel for the day.
You’ll visit the USS Arizona Memorial. The USS Arizona Memorial, located at Pearl Harbor in Honolulu, Hawaiʻi, marks the resting place of 1,102 of the 1,177 sailors and Marines killed on the USS Arizona during the attack on Pearl Harbor on 7 December 1941 by Japanese imperial forces and commemorates the events of that day.
After lunch, you’ll have free time to explore on your own.
After a group dinner, you’ll return to the hotel for the evening.
After breakfast, you’ll have some fun with pineapples at the Dole Pineapple Plantation! You’ll learn the story of the pineapple in Hawai‘i and how James Drummond Dole founded his world-famous agricultural empire where Dole Plantation stands today. You’ll also see the stunning scenery of the island’s famous North Shore.
After lunch, you’ll take a driving tour of the North Shore where you’ll see the famous Banzai Pipe Line and you might catch a glimpse of a turtle as you drive by their nesting areas. You’ll continue to the town of Haleiwa for lunch at one of their famous shrimp trucks and for delicious shaved ice from Matsumoto’s.
You’ll take a casual hike through a lush botanical garden featuring flora indigenous to Hawaii on your way to the magnificent Waimea Falls. The trail is 3/4 of a mile each way.
After dinner, you will return to your hotel.
After breakfast, you’ll check out of your hotel room and board your bus for the airport.
When you arrive in Kona, your bus will pick you up and you’ll continue your trip.
After lunch, you’ll enjoy the pleasant aromas as knowledgeable employees guide you through the Kona coffee plantations where you’ll learn all that goes into making the perfect cup of coffee.
You’ll arrive at your hotel and check into your rooms.
After dinner, you will return to your hotel on the bus.
After breakfast, you’ll check out of the hotel and board your bus for the day.
Enjoy a snorkeling trip in Kealakekua Bay. It is a marine life conservation district popular with snorkelers and the site of Captain James Cook’s death. The calm and clear waters here make it ideal for snorkeling.
After lunch, you will visit Punalu’u Black Sand Beach, one of the most famous black sand beaches. The black sands come from the constant volcanic activity nearby. You’ll see this amazing, palm frond lined shoreline and you may even glimpse some Hawaiian Green Turtles that bask on the beach.
After dinner, you will visit the Imiloa Astronomy Center which offers a fascinating bridge between science and culture and where the world’s greatest collection of astronomical observatories are housed.
You’ll arrive at your hotel and check in.
After breakfast, you’ll board your bus and depart the hotel for the day.
You’ll visit Kaumana Caves, a remarkable lava tube formed by the 1881 eruption of Mauna Loa, stretching over 2 miles beneath the surface near Hilo, Hawaii. Accessible via a steep metal staircase descending into a collapsed skylight, you’ll explore the cave’s dark, damp passages adorned with unique lava formations. This natural wonder offers a firsthand glimpse into the island’s volcanic history and is a popular spot for adventure seekers and geology enthusiasts.
After lunch, you’ll visit Volcanoes National Park which protects some of the most unique geological, biological, and cultural landscapes in the world. Extending from sea level to 13,677 feet, the park encompasses the summits of two of the world’s most active volcanoes – Kilauea and Mauna Loa. Although Kilauea has been almost constantly erupting since the 1980’s it appears to have paused. During your visit you’ll do some hiking and learn about the volcanoes.
After dinner, you will return to your hotel on the bus.
After breakfast, you’ll check out of your hotel room and board your bus for the day.
You will take a sightseeing tour north of Hilo to include Rainbow Falls, Onomea Bay Scenic Drive and Akaka Falls.
After lunch, you’ll visit the Panaʻewa Rainforest Zoo in Hilo, the only zoo in the United States located within a tropical rainforest, offering a unique blend of wildlife and lush botanical gardens. Spanning 12 acres, the zoo houses over 80 animal species, including Bengal tigers, lemurs, and native Hawaiian birds like the nēnē, alongside a diverse collection of tropical plants.
You’ll visit Liliʻuokalani Gardens in Hilo, a serene 24-acre park featuring traditional Japanese landscaping, including arched bridges, koi ponds, pagodas, and stone lanterns. Donated by Queen Liliʻuokalani in the early 20th century, the gardens honor Japanese immigrants and offer scenic views of Hilo Bay and nearby Coconut Island.
You’ll head to the airport for your return trip home.
