I come across tough and I can be but I am not.
When I Joined ETA & What I Love About Working Here
2009. I love working for Educational Travel Adventures because of the incredible relationships I’ve built over the years. We’re more than coworkers, we’re a family. We genuinely care about one another, support each other, and celebrate what makes each of us unique. Everyone has their own quirks, and instead of holding us back, those differences make us stronger.
Because we have very little turnover, most of us have known each other for years. That kind of continuity builds trust, respect, and a deep understanding of how we work together. I truly feel that we always have each other’s backs, no matter the situation.
That sense of integrity and unity was never more evident than during Covid. ETA did the right thing for our customers, even when it was incredibly difficult. We stood by them, supported them, and honored our commitments. While many companies in the industry didn’t survive that time, we did. We even came back stronger than ever. Not because of luck, but because of our values, our people, and our unwavering commitment to doing what’s right. That’s what in my opinion makes ETA shine and why I’m proud to be part of it.
Professional Background
I love what I do and I enjoy seeing how travel changes and expands each student. Travel helps bring students out of the classroom and into a world some only read about. Travel opens up a world of possibilities and I get to hear how it helps students gain confidence, independence and a broader worldview in just a few days. It’s incredible to see a class become a true community. That transformation is deeply rewarding.
There’s something to be said about being the person that brings about excitement, discovery and in some cases first time experiences.
– First Flight
– First Passports
– First time seeing maybe the ocean or mountains or another country
– First time getting to witness that the world is so much bigger then just my neighborhood
I get to be part of those “WOW” moments and it’s never tiring to see or hear.
Fun Facts About Liana
Interesting Facts
I am from the former USSR and came here when I was 9.
Favorite Place Traveled:
Barcelona – lots of greats… great culture, great food, great shopping.
Favorite subject to study in school:
Communication – the right form of communication can move mountains. The wrong form can create additional issues.
Most Recent Passport Stamp:
Portugal.
Most unexpected moment while traveling:
Had to get on and off the plane twice due to bathroom flushing issue and it extended our travel by almost 2 hours. Captain actually made an announcement that he likes to keep “everyone regular” so bathroom must be working or else we can’t fly.
Window seat or aisle seat?
Aisle for sure because I hate having to deal with a stranger and asking him/her to move.
Dream destination (not yet visited):
Very excited for my next destination – Greek Islands.
Go-to travel snack:
Kind Bars – gotta keep it healthy.
One thing I hope students gain from traveling:
I hope that kids walk away understanding that in order to be able to afford travel one must commit to being accomplished. I hope it brings them clarity about cultures because God knows kids today have a lot to be confused about. I hope it teaches them responsibility because it’s so important as they slowly embark on a bright future. I hope it makes them hungry to continue their travel journey.
