Daily Itinerary

1

Today you’ll start your Philadelphia adventure to make unforgettable memories with your group. Upon arrival in the city, you will meet your Tour Manager.

You can’t have the proper Philadelphia experience without a visit to Independence Hall, which is exactly where you’ll be headed for your first stop. Independence Hall was the meeting place for the Second Continental Congress. It was in the Assembly Room of this building that George Washington was appointed Commander in Chief of the Continental Army in 1775, and where the Declaration of Independence was adopted on July 4, 1776. In the same room the design of the American flag was agreed upon in 1777, the Articles of Confederation were adopted in 1781, and the U. S. Constitution was drafted in 1787.

Next, you’ll head to the Liberty Bell Pavilion. In 1915, the Liberty Bell came home to Philadelphia, where it now silently reminds us of the power of freedom. For more than 200 years, people from around the world have felt the bell’s message. No one can see liberty, but people have used the Liberty Bell to represent this important idea.

2

In the morning, you’ll visit the home of Betsy Ross. This building is recognized as the place where Betsy Ross lived when she made the first American Flag.

You’ll then take a guided tour of the National Liberty Museum, dedicated to preserving freedom and democracy by fostering good character and understanding for all people through education.

In the afternoon, you’ll visit the National Constitution Center where you’ll see a multimedia presentation about the US Constitution and have time to view the exhibits. In Signers’ Hall you’ll see life size bronze statues of all the signers of the Constitution.

After lunch, you’ll visit the Franklin Institute, a museum that honors Benjamin Franklin and his inventions. It offers new and exciting access to science and technology in ways that would both amaze and delight Mr. Franklin himself!

This evening you’ll discover the secrets hidden in the shadows of America’s most historic and most haunted city on a guided Ghost Tour.

3

After breakfast, you’ll take a self-guided tour of the United States Mint that covers both the present state of coin manufacturing as well as the history of the Mint.

You’ll take a tour of Valley Forge National Park, the site of the 1777-78 winter encampment of the Continental Army. The park commemorates the sacrifices and perseverance of the Revolutionary War generation and honors the ability of citizens to pull together and overcome adversity during extraordinary times.

This afternoon, your Philadelphia adventure comes to an end as you journey back home.
