Day 1
Upon arrival in Asheville, North Carolina, you will meet your local Tour Manager and begin your day. Today, you will start by going to Grove Park and Grove Wood Gallery. In the afternoon, you will go to the Asheville Art Museum. The Asheville Art Museum presents exhibitions and public programs based on its permanent collection of 20th and 21st century American art. After, you will then have free time to explore the River Arts District. This unique neighborhood along the French Broad River is home to more than 165 artists with working studios located in 18 turn-of-the-century industrial buildings. You will find an amazing range of art - from cutting edge sculpture and paintings to traditional raku fired pottery, and everything in-between. Following dinner, you will enjoy a Comedy Tour where you will experience the funny side of Asheville.
Day 2
You'll begin your day by going to Carl Sandburg’s home out in Flatrock. You will get to experience how the Sandburg family lived as a National Park Service Ranger or volunteer guides you through the house. You will also get to view the barn where Mrs. Sandburg owned and operated the Chikaming Goat Dairy. After lunch, you will go to Triple Falls and Hooker Falls. These waterfalls were featured in a scene in the movies, The Last of the Mohicans and The Hunger Games. You will then head into downtown Hendersonville where you will have some free time on Main Street. Tonight, you will enjoy a lively performance at Flat Rock Playhouse, the official North Carolina State Theatre. You will get to experience “Broadway in the Mountains”.
Day 3
This morning you will start by going to the Biltmore, George Vanderbilt’s 250-room home and country retreat, filled with priceless art. Then discover the estate’s other pleasures including a stroll in the vibrant gardens, a step back in time at River Bend Farm, sample award-winning vintages at Biltmore’s winery and shop around in Antler Hill Village. In the afternoon, you will have free time to explore the grounds at the Biltmore before starting your journey back home.
