Suggested Itinerary:
Sunday - January 18th
You'll arrive in Washington and visit the Air & Space Museum Steven F. Udvar-Hazy Center near Washington's Dulles International Airport. After your visit you'll check into your hotel and have dinner after a short break. In the evening you'll take a night tour including a visit to the Lincoln Memorial, Jefferson Memorial, Kennedy Center and the FDR Memorial.
Monday - January 19th
This morning you'll visit Arlington National Cemetery where you'll see the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier and the Changing of the Guard. You'll also see Kennedy's grave site. Then you'll visit the Iwo Jima Memorial and then have lunch. You'll continue to Mt. Vernon for a visit and then head back to Old Town Alexandria where you'll have dinner and then take an evening ghost tour.
Tuesday - January 20th
You'll arrive early in the morning at the Smithsonian area on the National Mall for the Presidential Inauguration festivities. The Inaugural events include:
The oath of office will take place on Capitol Hill. The newly elected President and Vice President will be sworn in.
The Presidential Inaugural Address.
Inaugural Parade will take place on Pennsylvania Avenue.
In the afternoon you'll have lunch and then visit the WWII Memorial, Washington Monument, Korean War Memorial, Vietnam War Memorial. In the evening you'll have dinner and then return to the hotel.
Wednesday - January 21st
After breakfast you'll check out of your hotel and head to downtown Washington. You'll drive by Embassy Row, the National Cathedral and the National Zoo. Then you'll drive by Ford's Theatre, Peterson House and the National Archives. In the afternoon you'll have free time to visit the Smithsonian Museums before returning home.
